Why the buffalo for the album cover?

When a storm approaches, cattle see it and head the opposite direction to run away from it. Eventually, the storm catches up to them. While they continue to run, the storm passes over.  They sadly keep themselves in the storm longer than necessary, extending the pain and discomfort. Running from their problem doesn’t make it go away. It just delays the victory.

Buffalo/Bison, on the other hand, do something very “unnatural.”  When they see a storm coming, they instinctively face and run into the storm.  This counterintuitive act actually shortens the length of time they spend in the storm. By facing the storm, the impact of the storm is dramatically reduced. Like the EOD Tech, they limit their time on target.

Buffalo also face their storms together, as a herd – as a unit. They get through them united and stronger than before.

We all have our own storms we must face in life. All EOD Techs and their families have had their fair share of storms in and out of the service to deal with. We accept the challenges and face them head on and when a storm seems too great to take on our own, we know that our “herd” will run beside us. We/You are not alone!

Into and Through the Storm we go!

The album cover was designed and created by veteran EOD Tech Erin Renee Willoby, owner/artist of Buffalo Gals Co.
